RLX and Merbau Team Up to Power Warehouses with Solar Energy

RLX is advancing its sustainability agenda through a partnership with Merbau Corporation, its sister company under JG Summit Holdings and the conglomerate’s dedicated renewable energy arm. The collaboration will equip nine RLX sites with rooftop solar panels, significantly reducing both energy costs and reliance on fossil fuels.

The project is expected to generate an average of 32,798,508 kilowatt-hours (kWh) annually.
“As a real estate company, our greatest environmental impact stems from our energy consumption,” RLC stated in its 2024 Sustainability Report. “Recognizing this, we are committed to minimizing our carbon footprint by integrating renewable energy solutions and green mobility initiatives into our operations.”

The installation of solar panels at select RLX properties reflects this proactive approach. Merbau, which recently completed the country’s largest consumer-driven rooftop solar plant in Batangas, brings extensive expertise in delivering large-scale solar infrastructure. Its track record has earned commendations from the Department of Energy and the Energy Regulatory Commission as a model for industrial clean energy adoption.
Through its partnership with Merbau, RLX is optimizing the operational efficiency of its logistics facilities while advocating for climate-conscious development. The initiative reflects a long-term vision to make logistics infrastructure more sustainable, cost-effective, and ready for the future.

As RLX continues to grow its footprint nationwide, sustainability will remain a key pillar of how it builds and operates—empowering its locators through clean energy solutions and contributing to a greener industrial landscape for the country.
